Happiness is the result of how our brain reacts to the environment around us.
Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphin are the four chemicals produced by your brain that are responsible for the feeling of happiness. These chemicals are known as DOSE and are activated by our behavior and habits.
Dopamine: Chemical that drives you to achieve your goal and rewards you when you do. Provides a sense of accomplishment as well as pleasure.
- Set small, attainable goals and celebrate your accomplishments
- Experiment with new things or learn a new skill

- Spend time with your friend and family
- Thank and appreciate others
- Use a light therapy device or get enough sunlight
- Consume foods high in tryptophan like eggs, cheese, nuts and turkey
- Use positive affirmations and comparison for yourself.
Endorphin: Pain and stress relieving chemicals that leave you feeling euphoric and energized. Produced when you exercise, laugh or excited.
